Like so many of you guys, I am very disappointed in yesterday’s results. It doesn’t feel like morning in America anymore. Those of us left with some of that good ol’ fashioned common-sense are scratching our heads. Do folks truly want America to continue down the path of insolvency? Do folks really want higher unemployment, taxes, poverty and inflation? Sure seems that way.
But we can’t lose Hope!
As that old adage goes, “Government can’t make you happy, healthy, wealthy or wise.” Only God can do that! This election wasn’t a landslide, there are still folks around the Country who share our Faith and thus His vision! This isn’t the time to back down, but to rally the troops. There are turbulent times ahead.
Keep the faith, and let’s continue to fight that good fight.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” -Deuteronomy 31:6

Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.
We are Christians. This is our oath.

People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

When Moses presented the Hebrews with the Ten Commandments, they responded, “Na’aseh V’Nishma”. And while I can only take a guess at how to say that, and even then, I’m sure I’m butchering it, the meaning is clear (a quick Google search works wonders).
“We will do and we will understand.”
And the phrasing there is important… not that they will both do and understand, but that they will do, and thus understand. This kind of thinking is so backward to today’s culture, it’s a shame.
I made a commitment not to long ago, to become that man who acts, and thus becomes… rather than waiting to become the person I was meant to be, and then acting. I was always waiting for my life to begin. It was, “One day I am going to do this”, or “One year I’m finally going to be that.” The truth is, my life is now. Today, I am outwardly being the person I’ve always dreamed of being, and in turn, that change will happen within. And in many ways, it already has… and it’s all uphill from here.
God bless.
