There is absolutely no reason a movie needs to be this good. (& in 3D!)
A close friend reminded me of this picture today, and while I normally don’t talk about the photos I post (I usually just let the photo do the talking), in this case, I’ll make an exception. At first glance this photo looks like some poor black folks standing in some bread line, right in front of a billboard touting “The American Way,” “The Highest Standard of Living.” It looks a bit ironic. But the real irony is that these people are A. clearly not poor (take one look at the clothes they are wearing during The Great Depression… one lady is even wearing a fur coat!), and that B. the government immediately stepped in during the Great Flood of 1937 to give assistance to all of the people affected. In so many other countries around the world, when natural disaster strikes, they are powerless to help their people. And yet, during the height of The Great Depression when America’s economy was in shambles, America still came to the rescue of her people. I think this photo is extremely appropriate. It shows that The American Way really does provide The Highest Standard Of Living.
